God Draws Straight with Crooked Lines...

Preface:  This next Sunday is the beginning of the Church Year, as we prepare to bring Christ into our hearts in advent season, think about what His love means to you.  ...And truly ponder your experience as a true example of His love to others.

God Draws Straight with Crooked Lines…
“Lo, I am with you always even until the end of the age.” - Matthew 28:20

In the theatre of your soul, what role do you play?  Do you live a life where you strive to fit in, or do you realize you as a Christian are meant to stand out?  Whom and what do you listen to in your life?  Do you listen to God, read His word, do you seriously ponder or do you read and read without acknowledging the real power of His words as they are lifted off the pages into your mind?  Can you and I continue to break all His commandments?  Do you and I seek to judge or use our better judgment?  Without any effort, it is His light which shines upon our darkness. 

If someone placed a gun at your head and said deny Him and live, what choice would you make?

Does the light of Christ shine through you?  Are you His conduit? 

What do all people seek in their lives?  ...calm, peace, love 

Love is important, the most important of all things. This dark world would like to see love distorted, many people do not know what real love is.  Follow Jesus and learn of untold truths of God.  On earth, a good marriage is the best example of love as you understand marriage is a compromise of wills.  You must give, and give and forgive and give again.  Giving must be pure, giving and learning about heavenly things and Jesus will teach you about love and prepare you for the love you will receive in Heaven.  Jesus will open your eyes in a greater degree time and time again until you can see with His eyes, let Him teach you about love.

He will never desert you, He always cares, He always forgives, and He always loves.  Christ has chosen you, in His eyes you are Holy and dearly loved.  Do you know the real extent of how He loves you?  Do you really know how to define immeasurable?

So in the theatre of your soul, what role do you play? Do you stand out or do run away?  Do you know how to forgive, starting over again, time and time again, or is your heart grown to liken this world and become isolated, cold and dark seeking your own passion only in the end to find misery and hurt.  Do you know what true love is all about, or have you chosen the distorted view of the world and created in your mind your own definition and limits?   Is following His truth proven too much to handle?  Are you chasing fool’s gold always seeking something more to never really find something more?

Let me tell you where the real treasure lies, where it can be found, not to be hoarded but given away, it lies at the bottom of a cross.  You and I will never know such pain, such sacrifice… But if you stop, kneel down and look up, you will find in your life your greatest gift, your greatest lover, the greatest believer in you, the one who always has His arms open, ready to always rescue, protect, console, heal, love and provide you with the definition of immeasurable...  immeasurable forgiveness and immeasurable love all one in the same.

"Joy"

I was watching the movie “The Bucket List” this evening on television, the two main characters were played by Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman.  They decided to travel the world before their time was completely ended by terminal illness.  They traveled to Egypt where sitting on the top of a pyramid gazing at another pyramid in the distance, Morgan Freeman’s character explained to Jack Nicholson’s character the Egyptians had to answer two questions before entering the gates of Heaven.  The first question was….'what has brought joy into your life?'  …and the second, 'what joy did you bring into the lives of others?'
Upon pondering these thoughts I wonder what really brings joy into my life.  Who has been a joy in my life, what joy have I brought others and how do I want to live?  Life is incredibly too short. We must fulfill our dreams by living daringly and strive to achieve our goals.  We won’t be able to squeeze everything into a short time- frame, for this reason we have been given all these years to accomplish much.  I think about all the things I have accomplished in my life, my talents, abilities, desires and motives.  And knowing my abilities and potentialities and therefore accelerate forward brazenly with the intentional will to discover more of my life.
With these thoughts of rejuvenation, I am easily able to begin to recreate the list of goals from an earlier time in my life to achieve and reflect upon the example of John Goddard who had so many goals he wanted to accomplish and did. Like him, and inspiration from the bucket list, I set my sights on a broad variety of objectives.  I have held myself back for way too long, there is so much life to be experienced.
I have set a huge goal to be achieved this next July, it involves international travel, physical strength, mental stamina, requires achieving many other small and some not so small goals to prepare for this life event. The accomplishment of this goal will bring about a new enlightenment into my conscious experience, and it will be so meaningful there will be a personal transformation in my thoughts, persona, and life force.  It will create a new personal awareness of my being and definitely bring joy into my life and allow me to bring joy and inspiration into the lives of others.
God has great plans for me; to understand His plans requires a perception of which many times we do not want to accept.  Where I plan to go there is danger, but there is also love.  The people there upon seeing you will spontaneously hug, no reservations or societal restraint as we have here.  Ironically, this goal I have set was earlier in this month and watching this movie was reinforcement of my motives.
My spiritual mission statement is Proverbs 21:21, if I can love as God, truly as He, then I will be so much a different person.  To love as God means sometimes giving people money you do not know, helping a stranger, bringing a laugh to a cashier, a needed smile to someone in the distance, a tight embrace to a friend or to hold their hand.  And of course, to forgive and forgive!  To you, my dear friend, let God be the judge, not the world! 
I want to take a moment to digress.  Live as you want to live, write more notes, give more hugs, kiss if you decide, stop letting the pressure of what seems socially acceptable prevent you from living a transformed life.  God wants you to love, He is purely love and when you also live as pure love, you will begin to understand what I am saying.  God is way beyond our societal dos and don’ts and yet we possess this perceived notion that He is so staunch.  This perception is derived through hundreds of years of the Catholic influence upon our Christian faith and even though the charismatics won’t admit it.  If you and I were to be living on an island in the South Pacific our mannerisms and outlook on life would be so much different than if we were to be living on Manhattan Island.  How do you want to live?    Stop living scared rather live a sacred life as a blessing revering others treating them as Holy.  My vision of Jesus is that He will hug and kiss me, my perception of Holy is that if you do the same to others your life will be lived on a whole new higher and more evolved plane.  How do you want to live?
What joys are you experiencing in life?
What joy are you bringing to the lives of others?
Is your life all about yourself?  Or is it about what you can give to others in your life, not just your family members, but your co-workers, your extended family, your clients, neighbors, special friends, and acquaintances.  Do you really treat others as hallowed?  What blessings do you shower?  And what are you capable of?   
Remember there may not be a tomorrow….
I hope the expression of my thoughts found here bring you some semblance of joy.  Maybe a cause for personal introspection for you is not so bad.  I write so you will know me.  And I write so you will think and help you learn to know you and discover a little more of who you are.
I know who I am, a very strong person unafraid to express my sensitivities, tears, sadness, anger, laughter, happiness and unrestrained joy.  I am real!  Some may not always like real, rather choosing a false sense of identity.  I always forgive, sometimes slowly, I am passionate and I do not apologize for being so.  And when I truly love and give my whole heart away, it is with total and complete abandon, there is no restraint.  I am real, absolutely real, and I sincerely hope you choose to be real with me.

"Beautiful"

This evening as I write these thoughts which invade mind from the feelings deep inside, I ask a simple question. How do we define true beauty?  Is beauty defined in speaking out loud the name of your lover?  Is it a person, a place, a lifestyle?  Is it the thought of your mother?  What words emanate your thoughts?

Here are some simple words to describe beauty…..

Beautiful
Gorgeous
Stunning
Attractive
Striking
Elegant
Dazzling
Lovely
Magnificent
Picturesque
Delightful
Pleasing
Radiant

Beauty is perhaps someone who is an incredibly in touch with themselves, completely at ease with the most graceful of mannerisms.  It is a person who speaks highly of others, is sensitive, kind and caring.  They seek to live soaking up each moment and in doing so drawing you into a new world inside of your world.  It is almost an indescribable feeling as you become entranced with each of their movements, the words they speak, the breaths they take and the feeling you experience in their touch.  When your eyes meet instead of looking away you cannot but help deeply gaze and stare intently into the soul of one another.  It is a good feeling agreeable to whom you are in so many ways.  It is a shared virtuous love known only to each of you.  Instead of denying and clothing ourselves in societal cloth, speak effortlessly, gaze intently, embrace and lightly touch.  ‘This is our life’.  Not one second is to be wasted, the world continues cycling round and round, let’s not regret.  Let’s be who we are and who we can be.  Place your hand in mine, let’s smile as we run, let our souls connect discover our shared beauty and together find ourselves in our own special world inside our world.

What Makes You Unique and Incomparable?

What makes you unique and incomparable? 
This question begs an answer based on introspection and truth, usually the best person to answer is always someone who knows us well.  The person who knows you best is you, so how do you answer?
What makes you unique?  Is it that you always tell the truth, not only to others but to yourself?  Do you repress your feelings and affect how others treat, love and care for you.  Your uniqueness is that you are truthful, caring, loving, giving, forgiving, sensitive, kind, passionate, free spirited, romantic, intelligent, broad-minded, progressive,  cosmopolitan, a seeker of solutions.  You are not a quitter, rather persevere, always striving forward, a visionary with ability to see a brighter future, focus on how life can be rather than how it is.  You are a writer, an actor and painter. You seek to live well in this act knowing the passion and pain, the excitement and thrills with great prayer will bring about a crescendo of applause in the next scene of your life.  You accept the anointing of God, and know with all that oil the devil will never get a real grip.  You live to pursue righteousness, purity, to pour His anointing onto the lives of others, and live a genuine life and allow others to see you naked, who you are, your strengths and your deficiencies, your fragility, your tenderness and devotions, your infatuations, the true power of your love, your potentialities; and in your unmasked state reveal to others true inspiration to live not only as who they are, but as they can be.  You seek to live with unfailing love, and know there is only one in your life of the living who truly understands.  God the Father, Son and Holy Ghost they are your example, He cannot help Himself but to love and love and love.  The closer you become to Him, you realize you also cannot help yourself.  When you were seven, you wanted to be a preacher, and now you know why.  He lives in you and His spirit inside causes you to love and know better than most the true power of His forgiveness and His acquittal as you too live with abounding grace.  And as His grace flows through you, those who know you sometimes just do not understand, it is the anointing of His unfailing love that causes you to live as Him. 

So what makes you incomparable?  You live not to be as only who you are.  Each day provides a new canvass to paint, an adventure to be lived, a new moment for self-metamorphosis, to change and grow and become better than day before.  You live as an explorer and adventurer. You find the mighty river, you have learned it does not always make sense to turn back and fight upstream, but rather to take advantage of the current and discover the excitement of new realities.  What makes you incomparable is you do not abandon others, rather you truly love and always seek to bring everyone along.  The strength of your friendship, your love and your caring makes you know every day is our new tomorrow.  It is okay to say you’re sorry, it is okay to say I fouled up and let’s start anew, you exclaim, “your forgiven” and together we climb in our craft properly named ‘Unfailing Love’ and we travel the river.  We shout out into the blue sky what the spirit has placed inside, our mantra for living ‘pursue righteousness and unfailing love.’  In doing so, we find the greatest treasure eternally discovering life, righteousness, honor and love.

I Wonder What is Left in My Soul

I wonder what is left in my soul?
Is there really a woman who can love and not let go?
All my strength is gone.

I have prayed and prayed, but what’s the use…
I just do not understand.
I wonder what is left in my soul?
Do you know what you do to me?
Do you know everything inside of me is wanting you?
Do you know everything inside of me is needing you?
Do you know how deeply I care, and how I just cannot desist?
Do you know how far for you I would go?
Do you know what is left in my soul?
Do you know the door to my heart is still open for you?
Do you know how I really forgive?
Do you know how I really love?
Do you know how real I am?
Do you know how special it can really be?
Why are you so lost?
I pray every day for you, I just cannot resist.
Do you know what is left in my soul?
I have never ran away, nor will I ever.
Do you know you who I am and whom I will one day be?

See Through the 'Eyes of God'

”Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.” – Phillipians 4:8

Seeing through the eyes of God is to love, coalesce and morph our lives and the relationships of our lives through our thinking and creating.  We are not God so we cannot create on the scale of His ability, but here on earth, when we become in touch with our inner-being we can create our lives by controlling our thoughts.  In Proverbs it is written, “As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he”, in our everyday lives we create our reality by the power of our thoughts.  Some people want to believe this is too ‘new age’ for them to believe this, but what is ‘new age’ about Proverbs 23:7?  It is written in the Old Testament and the words again are authored by God and written by Saint Paul in Phillipians 4:8. 

We as human beings living our everyday existence get so caught up in our struggles and reliving and expounding upon our drudgeries then bring forth more by continually speaking of the muck.  This is not what we are supposed to do.  Instead, we are to focus only upon optimistic thoughts and what we want our lives to be.  Does God get caught up in believing things are bad, and thus brings forth more unwelcomed circumstances?  Does He hate and bring forth more hate?  No!  Jesus Christ is our ultimate example!  Paul wrote, “Be imitators of Christ” – Ephesians 5:1.  God is only love…    “The one who does not love does not know God, for God is love." 1 John 4:8 "  God loves and loves and loves.  “For God so loved world that He gave His only begotten son that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life.” – John 3:16.  Okay, how does this apply to our thoughts?

Pretty easy, a few new daily affirmations can change our thoughts, our lives and create a whole new reality and allow us to live on a higher plane and attract greater good into our everyday experiences. 

I am an imitator of Christ.

My thoughts create my life, so today I choose to imitate God and I will love you.

God is love, and I am a child of God, and if I am to imitate Him, than I too am love.

I think of only the best of people, only the best!

This last affirmation brings to mind a quote from Mark Twain. “Small people belittle other people, but a really great person, also makes you too feel you can become great.”

We need to stop belittling ourselves first!  We need to focus on becoming much more than our smallest thoughts.  Instead of believing we are weak, we need to believe we are powerful.  We are created in God’s own image.  God is the great creator, and we as sons and daughters of God also create.  Our ability is only limited to the realm of this earth, but we create through our thoughts.  We are to have thoughts of love and forgiveness.

What is the greatest commandment?   “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.  The second is this: Love your neighbor as yourself. “ – Mark 12:30-31   These are Jesus words.  His thoughts are to be our thoughts and causes us to reach beyond our sinful selves and live in the illumination of His love only brought upon us by Christ’s sacrifice and our reconciliation to the Father.

So instead of abandoning our best selves in the throes of melancholy self-righteousness, we need to change our thoughts.  We need to realize we create our reality by believing today is a new day, create loving relationships with our families, with our friends, co-workers, and clients.
Think on a higher plane, your whole life is personal, truly it is, there is no separation from personal and professional.  This is the biggest piece of hogwash.  What about you is NOT personal?  Think about how Jesus Christ sees things.  What about God is NOT personal?  Is there a professional Jesus and a personal Jesus?  “LOL”   You better hope He is personal at the moment of your last breath!

Dear God,
Today I am calling upon you from one professional to another professional…. Do you think we can have a conversation about your professional love….LOL.   Good Grief!

My point is this, God is love, the second greatest commandment as spoken by Jesus and expressed to us in His eternal words as written in Mark, empower and demand us to love everyone, to live from a personal perspective.  By the way, I dare you to complete an internet search the word ‘professional’ in the Bible.  Listen to the Sunday morning preacher, ‘If you would like to know Jesus as your personal Savior’…. Have you ever heard of a professional Savior? 

Likewise, I do not have professional friends, all my friends are personal, they may have a professional life based on what they do for a living, but when it comes to friendship, caring and love it is personal. 

So back to the premise of my writing today!  We are the creators of our reality, we are only to think about what we want, not what we do not want.   Sometimes when we are rejected by others, it makes our life more complicated. But, through prayer and deep meditation with God Almighty as we seek His ultimate wisdom, we continue to focus on what we want knowing His hand will bring about the proper results.  In our hurt, it is sometimes difficult to maintain faith, with constant reassurance by listening to His word and seeking the love of our friends, we find faith and bask in the illumination of His love which transcends anything we can experience on this earth.

God loves us, we are to love everyone, start today and begin loving everyone; tell someone you know, a friend who needs to know you love them those three little words, “I love you”.  Tell them in a very real way not some flippant manner like ‘love ya’, but look them into their eyes and express those words with meaning and change their life and yours.  In doing so, you become a creator and God will send an echo from His universe causing you to receive more love today.

If there were two of me...

It’s too bad there is only one of me!  It would be so nice to be twenty again.  If there were two of me an older and a younger version, just think of the possibilities I could create, the fun to be had, the love to be expressed.  If there were two of me, maybe the older me - the real me would be harsh, pragmatic and distressed over the doings of the younger me.  The younger me I am sure with all the knowledge of the older me, would be more outgoing, less fearful, more free, incredibly more expressive exuding confidence and finding himself re-living the unfulfilled fantasies and passions of the older me.
Then I think, it is really nice to be the older me, sure I would rather look like and feel like the younger me, and if I knew then what I know now…wow!  I am sure the younger me today would be much more impulsive, unrestrained and filled with surprising confidence saddled up and ready to live, live, live chasing dreams thinking how great it will be when I am the older me. 
But here I am, the older me, the real me!  So what complaint do I have?  In reality, I am the older younger me, inside of me there lies the unexpressed passions, daring do, and a restlessness awaiting for release.  Let’s travel the world, experience adventure, embrace life, pack more into each day, sleep less and live more.  There is so much more living to do.  Older me quell your fears, decide to be successful today, let not anything stop you, harm you, dust off your feet and march forward!  Keep on praying, keep on living, guard your thoughts and guide them to fulfill the completion of your dreams, create more and live your fantasies.  God wants to give you what you want.  He wants you to live, live, live!  He didn’t make you to muddle, complain and cry, rather He made you to be all you can be before you die.
So dear reader my friend, here I am the real me, the person you think you know.  I have so much to do and I am going to do it!  Listen as I tell the former me good bye, in the game of life, practice is over the game clock starts now.  Me, you are the starting line-up and you are your own shining star.  So, what you waiting for?  Get out there and go get them!  Life is to be lived, lived, lived and you are the only one who can decide. Today is the day and you are man!  This moment is created by God just for you, make this day, this present moment, your greatest moment, your greatest gift to God and to you by living not as two, but who you are.  There’s no one stopping you, there is no one who loves you more than you. Who has to put up with you more than you, and encourage you more than you,  and of course, be with you all the time more than you?  So, as you travel throughout this day, keep your head-up and live life all the way.

Forgiveness is the Key to Love

Preface: I realize not every relationship is healthy, the unhealthy ones are a minority, as the great majority of relationshps in life have awesome potential to be everything those participating in them want it to be.  This is written for those in the great majority to thoughtfully consider and contemplate.

Too many people in our twenty-first century society are too quick to judge, close doors, and walk away from good relationships.  They figure it is easier to follow the crowd and count themselves as just another one in an ever growing majority.
I am writing in opposition to the malaise which so many instantly feel is the key to relieving pressures in pursuit of some semblance of perceived happiness.  True happiness is found staying in your garden.  If we are to pursue righteousness and unfailing love as written in Proverbs 21:21, then why do so many choose such a contradictory path.
Every relationship is like a garden and marriage itself is a garden.  We are to plan, plant, fertilize, water, prune and reap the rewards of a flourishing garden.
Running away is cowardice and the weak person’s way of handling their stress.  Breaking up long-term relationships and marriage is definitely not the pursuit of the sublime.  I believe in the saving grace of Jesus Christ and the power of forgiveness.  Forgiveness is the key that unlocks the door to eternity and forgiveness is the key that unlocks the door to tranquility on earth.  Only the foolish fail understand the impact of reconciliation and practicing real love.
It is by His stripes we are healed.  If Jesus took so much punishment for us to reconcile you and I back with the Father, then what experience do we have to compare with His suffering and death?  The magnitude of His sacrifice minimizes the trivialities of the complaints we have with one another.
This brings me back to my point of staying in the garden.  Sure, it is going to take work, no one ever said it would not.  We have to water, fertilize, provide love, care, prune and improve ourselves.  It will sometimes be a joy and at times a real toil, but the rewards of the harvest are worth the effort.
An older couple was once asked, “What is the key to a happy marriage?” They replied in unison, “A Short Memory!” There you have it in a nutshell – forgiveness!
I have come to believe that forgiveness is a quality of an evolved person and it becomes a part of their lifestyle.  It does not mean they are weak or allow others to run over them, but they choose to really forgive.  In this way, they live with freedom, peace and greater joy discovering the true essence of who they are.  They are relieved from the poison grip of resentment which weakens so many lives.
In this world where so many people publicly want to race away to their own notions and beliefs, I am here to stand beside the teachings of my God.  It is a privilege to kneel before Him and ask for His forgiveness.  In His forgiveness we find life and peace.
Share a piece of His love today, forgive others, promote them with your love and extend to them the joy found in accepting Him.
What is so amazing when we forgive, we become the water and the fertilizer of our relationships.  Our garden then flourishes, the flower of our relationship blooms and it is beautiful.  ‘To forgive is to love, and to love is to forgive.’
